I am stuck because I tried to upgrade a G4 to Panther OS and there was an error. Now I cannot go back to the old OS and cannot login to the new one because I don't have the password.

No, Apple's OS X license agreement is very explicit that the software can only be installed on Apple hardware.

My friend cannot install os10.4 without first doing a bios update. the bios update requires os9. he has tried downloading os9 and burning it. but he cannot get the cd to be bootable. even if the os says that its bootable, it just wont boot.

I went to their website, www.ubuntu.com and I saw that the 6.0 something version is for PPC. So just wondering if that means it is mac compatible? I have a imac thats currently running version 9 but explorer stopped supporting its browser for that version. Thanks to all who ...

I am borrowing this Mac iBook G4 and did not understand that this mini disc apparently was not compatible with the drive.

I made a file that has some embedded sound object with word 2000 (part of Microsoft office 2000 professional). This is what I did:
insert - object -wave sound (then I record) and a speaker icon appears in the file.
Someone who uses an IMAC OS10 can not see the speaker icons. ...

I run Mac OSX Panther, and have the pop up which says: startup disk
is full and needs me to remove uneeded files etc... I deleted almost all
files no vital to running mac OS and trashed all extra downloaded applications... and still i continue to get our of disk space ...
