I have an ibook g3. Is it possible to just buy the old airport card, and just place it in? Or do I need the software to install as well?

When I drag an application into the trash and delete it, I only delete access to the aplication. I need to clear room on my iBook so that I can install new applications.
Dragging it to the trash should uninstall it, I don't know what you are doing wrong.

I am buying a computer, and I am interested in buying an Ibook but I want to know the major differences (good and bad) between the Ibook and MacBook. If you could offer a really dumbed down explanation that would be much appreciated. Technical specs really confuse me.
