I don’t know much …
I don’t know much about the clamshell model, but you can get a 12″ white model (similar design to the white MacBooks) on eBay for a pretty low price. With Panther, the white iBook is pretty decent and if you upgrade the RAM to 1GB (like I did) it can run Tiger very nicely. It plays music and video well, and WiFi is good too (you need to install an AirPort card if it doesn’t come with one before you can use WiFi) My mum now uses my old G3 and gets on just fine.
