Ibook G4 Problem

hey guys, i was just playing warcraft on my ibook then the sreen went black. i thought i broke it, then it started to mess up. Now i learned that for sumreason i cant run my ibook off the battery. i tried switching batterys with my G3 battery but nothing difrent happend.

    Never get a computer off the internet or from some person you don’t know! This is why it is a pice of . He got rid of it because he knew that this would happen.

    He ripped you off in my opinion.

    I had a problem …
    I had a problem similar to yours, also with an iBook G4. I was listening to music one day and all of a sudden I heard a popping noise, and the screen went black. It wouldn’t turn on, and I thought it had died. After I searched the internet (on another computer), I found out that the power management system had messed up, and I needed to reset the power manager. It’s done that one other time, but it still runs very well.

    oh for sure! but it may lag a bit in the northend and IF, and running wow on ibooks heats them up pretty quik so u can only play for an hour before taking a 10 mins break..

    ya, and sadly its not under apple care.. :( ya i just got a macbook and i cant upload vids to my account cause youtube is bieng retarded :( so i gotta make a new account.. but anyway lol the specs are 1.25ghz 1.25gb ram (ithink) G4.. and it handles wow pretty good, it heats up wayy to fast.. but you can play BC expansion O.K but WOTLK is pretty terible hehe but thanks for the info :)

    The logic board …
    The logic board sadly has died :(. The part on it that connects to the batterie is bad. The logic board is a very expensive part to repair. 350-500$. The DC board is not bad because then you could not charge it. If its under apple care send it in. MIght want to think about getting a new computer, Very expensive repair. Also, what are the specs on your Ibook and how does it handle W.O.W? Hope the best to you.

    If it still does not work try to remove the batterie for a while and when you take out the charger pull it out from the wall.

    try to reset the pmu and the pram if not working -> change the dc card if not working -> change the motherboard (buy a macbook) if not working

    I Didn’t put that right, I think you may have punctured the cable that connects the battery to the CPU. You are still able to see how much battery life you have, but you cant run off the battery. Jake has the same problem with his ibook g3. And this is a message to jake: My ibook it better than yours, right it is better than yours!
