What should I do to get a disc stuck in my disc drive out, on my iBook?

December 1st, 2009 | by admin |

I have an iBook G4 and i have been trying to get out a disc that won’t come out but have so far failed. I have tried pressing the eject button when turning it on but it doesn’t work. When trying to eject it, it just make a weird tapping noise and just doesn’t come out. If you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Before you make things worse, take it to a Apple store and let them fix it for you or at least let them look at it.

Restart your iBook and keep hitting eject while it’s starting up.

Hold down the trackpad button when restarting. If that doesn’t work, use the disk utility program in your utilities folder to eject it.

Straighten one end of a paper clip. Gently but firmly push in into the tiny hole on the cd drive. The tray will open.

Hmm… Well my best bet would be just to hold down your eject button till… i dunno Kingdom Come… hopefully that’ll get the disc out.
Of course, a good idea is always to restart your computer [although I'm sure you've tried]…

    Good luck!
