    It …

It depends on too many things, what hardware you have is the main factor. Go to the hackintosh site and see if you can find your hardware, then whether or not it works and what build people have been using to install on your hardware, whether it be iAtkos, iPC or whatever. It may even be possible to use a clean leopard disc, some of the EFI emulation around now, has drivers on a pre-boot disc rather than a patched leopard image, as I said just look for the best way for your hardware.

    That’s why idiots …
That’s why idiots like this shouldn’t give legal advice. And they also shouldn’t give computer advice, seeing as how he thinks installing an OS can somehow ~~*”magically”*~~ destroy the hardware of your computer.

    can anyone tell me …
can anyone tell me if a prepatched image of OS X Leopard will work? I want to try that first. Could anyone also tell me in a simpler way to make a patched image of OS 10

    Do a search for …
Do a search for hackintosh and you’ll find all you need. You can’t break your computer, you may break a previous install of windows if you have one, but the hardware will be fine. Just install on a clean partition.

And yes I have 2 installs of Leopard running on none Mac hardware, one on a Gigabyte GA945GCM with C2D and another on an old AMD, the C2D works perfectly. The AMD is OK but not perfect. How easy it is just depends on what hardware you have, some are easy, some need a bit of tweaking.

    Yes you can get …
Yes you can get builds of OSx86 for AMD. Some software such as Iphone dev kit needs patching to run, but on the whole it runs well enough.

He is such a tool. …
He is such a tool. How to make a simple task as hard as possible.
And by the way, it is unclear whether an apple sticker fulfills the requirements for “Apple labelled”. Why did Apple use that term rather than “Apple Hardware”?
Its a grey area, If I get an old Mac Pro case does that fulfill the requirements? Or is it only the logic board? Except the logic board isn’t always labelled.
This is a typical “I once worked in PC world doing IT support until I got this Job” type of “expert”. Knob.

    MachTo5, windows …
MachTo5, windows makes its money from selling the windows operating system, therefore they allow everyone to install it in their computers legally. Apple on the other hand makes its money from the hardware (the computer itself) therefore it will not be convenient if apple were to allow installing their OS in anything other than their own hardware.
