I’ve mainly used Ubuntu, but other versions I used were very similar.

Leopard has one good thing: Apple focuses on making it a very powerful OS. Despite everything it can’t do, the things its specified to do, including running intensive physics engines, it does better then anything else. Either way, OS X, like Windows, is just a sales product and Apple will do anything to shove it into anyone’s face and make the most possible profit from it. Linux is free, so you’re ured it’s legit.

    I wasn’t talking …
I wasn’t talking about the GUI. I was talking about the core. Didn’t say Linux ripped off of Mac OS and I guess the linux GUI you’re talking about is Ubuntu? And physicists, the main users of Linux in the professional world are switching to Leopard because Unix is more useful to them than Linux.

    It’s basically the …
It’s basically the same idea. Linux is more useful then Mac OS in almost every way, and the difference in ease of using it is, if you learn Linux you’re good. Even if you learn OS X faster, it’s a nightmare to use, and fails terribly at multitasking. Ripoff or not, a task bar should be standard in ALL operating systems.

    Linux is a cheap …
Linux is a cheap rip off Unix. Easier to use than Unix but weaker. Mac OSX is built on Darwin a form of Unix.

That’s a feature of the screen recording program I use, iShowU. The “sonar” only pops up after the video is done recording. My mouse clicks are standard and I don’t see the animation as I am making the video.
