Macworld San Francisco 2000-The Mac OS X Introduction (Pt.2)
July 6th, 2009 | by admin |
By request, here is when Steve Jobs introduced Mac OS X for the first time ever. I edited the video myself to show the very best moments of the presentation & split it up into 3 parts on account of youtube’s bogus time limit.
Duration : 0:9:48

I dont know. I just …
I dont know. I just think that to earn an honest living, people should either have real jobs.I’m not entirely sure that Pirillo doesnt have a job, but for the amount of time he spends on live feeds, it would appear not.
I dislike how he has all the latest gadgets, either bought from his non-job, or donated by companies. Reviewing things should be a priviledge, to see brand new technology before everyone else, not a job. leave that to the guys that work at Apple, Yamaha etc
Heh, rant over

The apple in the …
The apple in the middle wasn’t actually a menu at all but just decoration. They were going to do away with it altogether but decided against it. In any case the apple menu in OS X since 10.0 largely serves a different function than it did in pre-OS X. In OS 9 and below you could change the contents of it.

Yes. There were …
Yes. There were changes by the time 10.0 launched and then more changes (and stability upgrades) for 10.1 almost immediately.
The OS has evolved very subtly since its introduction, so I don’t quite remember specifically the changes back then (I’ve been a user since its introduction).

I just recently switched to Mac from PC. I have used PC’s since I was 4 years old. I have to say that the interface and usability is much better on a Mac. Macs are still too expensive, but it is worth it if you do video or really want your computer to last for a long time.

Unfortunately the audio is not synced. What is my suggestion that you can open this video in two tabs, and adjust the sound in first one with video in the second. That can be helpful if this unsynchronized audio angers you.

I agree that Windows is the prime OS out there, but you gotta give Apple credit. He was announcing this in 2000. What was Microsoft doing in 2000? Coming up with another gaudy UI Operating System called Windows 2000.
