Well, it only …
Well, it only detected 1gb of my Ram out of 4gb, it thought I had a core 2 duo when I had a pentium, and my onboard audio was not working.
Of Course I am not trying to make your argument void, I am actually helping it, If apple makes their Software for Pc Hardware, there is no compatiblity issue, but so far apple makes their Software for their hardware, they have no reason to support other hardware, if or when they make Os X for all systems that shouldnt be a problem.

but to your …
but to your knowledge what makes it incompatible? The difficulty of getting OSX to run on non-apple hardware is simply EFI and security binaries, which are there on purpose to keep os x on apple hardware. But that has nothing to do with x86 intel and compatibility there. That is simply a security measure apple uses. That said the only compatibility issues that would occur in hardware is with graphic cards.

I been learning …
I been learning from this OS X set Free videos. What I find is, that current OS X does have alot of compatibility issues on Pc hardware, that definately does not mean it won’t be fixed if apple officially lets it free. Sure enough I found backways, and means of getting OS X to run on my pc, and if I can do that, apple can too.
Though I am definately not saying I like OS X, the os doesn’t work to my likings.
But like I said, OS X NOW is incompatible, but an official OS X for pc, will be.

this were your most fancinating and amazing vids. I will never buy a mac EVER, however I would buy OS X in a snap of a finger if it was released.

Hardware …
nice vid..
Hardware is Apple’s bread & butter.
Apple can grow big but will never touch Microsoft unless they let OSX free from their hardware and it’s kind of late for them now.
there’s only room for one Borg not two and the position comes with a lot of strings attached.

wow, that was amazing man really gripped me, if im the most anti mac guy on the plannet yet . . . If I could buy my own hardware and install OSX on it I would kiss goodbye to windows faster than you can say my name. you know? windows has been too for too long and lost the pro end of everything. id switch over night and become a apple fan.

Linux, not stable? …
Linux, not stable? Let’s take a look at my Gentoo Linux server:
21:22:30 up 271 days, 17:38, 2 users, load average: 3.00, 3.01, 2.99
It’s been running for nine months straight.
And my uptime for my home Gentoo Linux box which I use X on:
21:23:26 up 37 days, 5:06, 21 users, load average: 1.27, 1.21, 1.14
Over a month straight, with no loss in performance.
Only reason I’m not using OSX: I don’t need it for what I’m using my computer for.

Excellent vid. …
Excellent vid. Probably the most coherent and well reasoned arguments I’ve seen on this issue. 1 thing though. In order for Apple not to lose hardware market share, they’d have to make the cost of component certification high enough so that the OEMs using that hardware would have to price their final OS X running systems at the same level as Apple products. Otherwise, is say Dell puts out a comparable system with Apple approved components running OS X for $50 less retail, then Apple loses share.

Finally an apple …
Finally an apple user that makes some sense.
Restricting OS X to mac hardware is absolutely ridiculous. If OS X was allowed to run on the x86 architecture Windows would have some competition both on the home user and business level.
This is because current Mac hardware is overpriced. If you could put OS X on PC, windows users would be much more likely to try OS X out. I know I would. It’d be beneficial for Windows users to as it would give Microsoft more incentive to better their products.

OS X and Unix is …
OS X and Unix is one of an OS, but your defense is only as strong as your weakest point and Apple is leaving a wide chasm open with their smug attitude toward security and until Apple changes their attitude and culture, I’m not sure how wise it is to open the floodgates to everyone else that is gunning to claim first prize to cripple OS X with a widespread trojan, root kit, or virus. I hope I am wrong and I’d like to hear your thoughts in regards to changing Apple’s attitude. Great video.

attacking the Unix …
attacking the Unix OSes is because most script kiddies can only attack what they can afford and currently that’s cheap PCs bundled with a Microsoft OS. The one drawback to allowing OS X on common PC hardware is that it will give those script kiddies more of an opportunity to find holes in OS X.Apple as of now is not yet ready for the enterprise. The underlying culture of hiding security holes and not releasing technical details of fixes is the exact opposite of what needs to be done. [cont.]

I 100% agree with …
I 100% agree with the arguments you made, but one salient point that you missed is Apple’s approach to security. Apple has a hideous track record when it comes to disclosing and fixing security problems in Mac OS X. Macworld magazine even called Apple out with their handling of the DNS debacle and it pains me to think how many more attacks will target OS X after gaining more market share. I believe Linux, Unix and OS X are secure by obscurity and the reason why hackers are not actively [cont.]

Great Vid.
But …
Great Vid.
But answer me this …
If OEMs buy the approved hardware - will Apple have to approve the way the PCs are put together too? How about the quality of the material used? Won’t Apple have to approve every individual PCs in the end? How about software updates? How will that work? If the PC fails who will be responsible? Apple or OEMs?
Apple Brand is worth more than any Market Share/short-mid term profit. It won’t sacrifice its image by subcontracting it to Dell/HP/Asus/Acer. Nah-ah.

I use …
Agree.
I use windows as I want to play games as an OS it’s ok have had many problems in the past.
I also use Linux never had a single problem and no one would if they have the right hardware which is supported with working drivers and I dare say OSX would also be the same.
Linux MS OSX all need to be supported fully with all software and games on any system that’s the end game and they know it so sort it out.

5. hardware sales …
5. hardware sales will remain the same because apple hardware is great.
6. this big step will make competition more healthy.
7. apple computers will still remain the #1 in in terms of hardware and i think that, knowing os x by more people, they will want to buy the best computer too. this is what i did.
