Airport Extreme Printing but no internet service with Mac powerbook.?

September 17th, 2009 | by admin |

I had a DSL network going with a Mac desktop and a Power book. Earthlink cut my account for a week last month and when it was restored the laptop will not network correctly but the desktop was OK. The powerbook can print wirelessly but no wireless internet connection is possible. Wireless internet works at a public hotspot. I don’t believe I changed any setings during the downtime. Earthlink tech was useless, and they can only offer now a slower speed DSL than I had.

Specs: 1999 Imac on OS 9.1. - iMac on ethernet cable to Airport. - Zyxel P-600 router - circa 2003 airport extreme - Pismo powerbook with internal airport card on OS10.28 - powerbook prints wirelessly fine, signal strength looks fine, and is used at very close range, the machine works good with dial-up - iMac not set up to print.

Thanks for any help or direction!

I had the same problem with a similar model. Sorry, but I had to take it in and they had to send it off to have it "fixed." I don’t think they knew what was wrong with it because I ended up getting a refurbished one. But, now it works fine!
