Apple’s Mac OS X Snow Leopard Review
September 4th, 2009 | by admin |
http://twitter.com/chrispirillo - I’m sure you’re still laughing at my impression of a Snow Leopard, in honor of the newest release of Mac OS X. The upgrade is only $30.00, which is an excellent price. You should go out and get it right away, but I’m not sure if you’re ready to install it just yet. http://chris.pirillo.com - http://geeks.pirillo.com

Just a bit sad that Skype, MSN and VLC don’t work anymore. Though, I can just install it onto windows for the time that these programs aren’t updated.

I keep reading …
I keep reading Intel only. I guess that 7 GB saving they were boasting about is spin for ‘Goodbye PowerPC’.
Admittedly I don’t have a vested interest in this as I’m a late switcher, but transitions like that are going to be frustrating.
My main interest is Open CL - I love the idea of turning your graphics into an extra main processor.

I installed it on my macbook late 2008 4gb ram. Mail didn’t work and software update didn’t either. Flew back to 10.5.8 which I backed up earlier. So buggy that I won’t try any other apps until they get the basics worked out!

I’m not buying this update. I have a first gen Macbook Pro that I only use for web surfing and email so I don’t really see a reason to give Apple my 30 bucks.
