    Very impressive, …
Very impressive, especially when you consider this was in 2003, back when we Windows users were still waiting for XP’s Service Pack 2 to land.

I’m a Windows user through and through, but even still, I’m happy to eschew the fanboy nonsense and admit this was an exceptional feature. Still useful today, but it must’ve been absolutely revolutionary in 2003.

    Don’t worry about …
Don’t worry about it, Cocoa. Z Bych, is obviously some gamer geek who prefers Windows, read about BSD in a book, and when I say read a book, I mean eavesdropped into a Best Buy Geek Squad conversation, and only got the gist of what open source is. NeXTSTEP is the true predecessor of OS X with a very obvious legacy in UNIX. Just like Linux and BSD builds, OS X is a great example of what OSes should be when built on older, more stable kernels. Unlike certain blue screen disasters we all know.

Wow you’re an idiot. You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about that you’re not even worth it. It’s like arguing with a tree.

    I’ve never said …
I’ve never said that macs or OSX are crap, just that they aren’t anywhere close to being as good as you mindless apple drones believe them to be.
I’m gonna repeat an oft said question. If macs are so absolutely wonderful as you seem to imply, why aren’t they currently in the position that windows based PCs are, with near total market domination? They’re, not unless you think that 90+ percentage points is close (worldwide that is, not just the vain ‘I wanna be hip’ bullshit that pervades the US.

    So I can download …
So I can download the sourcecode to OSX? Phleeese, you really are drinking the koolaid aren’t you. Apple has rarely actually innovated anything, they just copy things from others or buy the companies, just like MS do.
The only difference is that apple have rabid fanboys that think its their duty to defend their almighty god from any perceived attack irrespective of its merits. How ANYONE could defend the mac mouse is simply beyond my comprehension.

    They didn’t …
    @zybch

They didn’t buy anything from BSD. Do you even know what BSD stands for? They have and continue to make improvements in their version of BSD and the Mach kernel, and release it for free to the public.

And a “candy coating” over it? What are you, high? Mac OS X itself is over 20 years old (NeXTSTEP), and years went into the development of the original Postscript graphics layer that evolved into the PDF layer Mac OS X has now. Get your facts straight before you start spurting garbage.

    You seem to have …
You seem to have forgotten, apple was so god awful at OS’es (have you ever tried using OS9?) that they had to buy one from BSD and stick a sickly sweet candy coating over it and call it their own?
Besides, I AM an apple owner, have been for a while, and windows is easier to use for day to day stuff and mostly is more intuitive.
BTW, I’m aware of the pressure thing with the mice, and its a typical apple stunt, being different FOR THE SAKE of being different, not because they actually need to.

    Zybch you have to …
Zybch you have to move away from that Microsoft stuff. Its beginning to affect your mental health. Your colorful use of language you use to engage with and the obvious disregard and disrespect for other Mac users is a clear example of how the so-called “OS” of Microsoft can affect the mentality of a user causing him or her to actually THINK six years behind Apple users.

Apple uses a mouse that dropped buttons years ago. It works with pressure, not causing it.

    The Future is Apple Shaped.

    This was 2003.
It might be simplistic, but it was ahead of it’s time.

It took Microsoft another 3 years to release Vista.
Vista has some features that make management of windows easier, but it’s user interface is still not as good as Mac OS’s was back in 2003.

    Yeah, but its the …
Yeah, but its the getting used to it that sucks. Why apple doesn’t just do the ‘normal’ thing of actually using 2 microswitches/sensors instead of the stupid way the mighty mouse operates is just dumb. Its VERY counter intuitive to actually lift your index finger off the left button area for it to recognize you doing a right click. Just another perfect example of apple doing stupid things to be different instead of good. All in all, it easier to just buy a mouse that doesn’t screw with you.

    Apple’s Mighty …
Apple’s Mighty Mouse is actually a 2 button mouse if u want it to be.
It might only have one physical button but there are sensors that detect where your fingers are.
It takes a moment to get used to that, but it works.

Yeah I know, but its just too much fun to bait the mactards.
Besides, MS does seem to make the best mice out there, logitech a close 2nd. I just wish they’d make some larger ones for ppl like me that don’t have itty-bitty hands.
