Mac OSX ~ How do you disable start up programs?
December 16th, 2009 | by admin |For example ~ installed games that automatically boot on start up. Various other dormant programs ~ Mac Mail
So easy to do on Windows but I can’t navigate to the correct OSX system manager that will disable start up applications.
Thanks for your help
Go to ‘System Preferences’ click on ‘Accounts’ go to your account, click on the ‘login items’ tab and remove the ones you don’t want.
If there are still start up apps that start up that you don’t want there are two folder to look at:
/YourHardDrive/Library/StartupItems/
and
/YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/StartupItems/ (You may not have this one)
and delete what’s in there, if you don’t need it and/or want it.
