How can I make my PowerBook G4 run faster?

I have a PowerBook G4 10.4.11 that I bought used. Its great but I notice that it can run slower than, say a Gateway PC, when its loading videos. And the video quality is grainy or "noisy." Do I need to update Flash or Quicktime? Honestly I don’t even know what either of those programs do. And I also am ignorant as to if I have Leopard or Tiger or whatever. Help!

    The G4 is exceptionally old and crappy. Just replace the computer completely.

    10.4.11 = Tiger. And maxing out the RAM is about all you can do for it. The Powerbook G4 is four years old at best and not fast by today’s standards at all.
