    apple switched to …
apple switched to intel because they had reached as far as they could get with the ppc chips, they could not fit a g5 into a laptop due to power consumption. Intel macs are good. :)

    That’s part of the …
That’s part of the reason why I picked a PowerBook G3 Pismo to upgrade from the MainStreet I was given-those modular bays are sweet. Dual batteries for ludicrous battery life, easy disc drive upgrades (including Blu-ray!), and even a second hard drive in an enclosure!

And, of course, the keyboards, which are still superior to any Apple ‘Book released since (WallStreet being the absolute best, though Lombard/Pismo isn’t too far behind).

    Sad thing is, I …
Sad thing is, I have one of those infamous MainStreets, cacheless G3 233, passive-matrix screen, 32 MB of RAM, 2 GB HDD, and all. (At least I got it and some software for free.)

I once stumbled upon a garage sale with a Compaq Armada 7800 (exact same model as in this video!), but my mother nagged me to leave before I could buy it.

I’d love to have compared those two machines myself and posted it as a video response…
