Running 10.5.6 updated from 10.5.0 Upgrade DVD from a now dead MacBook Pro of mine.
This method should work with 10.5.0, 10.5.1, 10.5.4 and 10.5.6 Retail DVDs.
Obviously if you use the 10.5.6 Retail DVD - you will not need to run the 10.5.6 Combo Update.
