In what level gymnastics should you get grips and tiger paws?

I am level 3. And was wondering what level i need to be in to get grips or /tiger paws. My friend is in level 5 and she has tiger paws and no grips. I fall off sometimes when i have a rip. Or my hands slip. And my wrists hurt alot. But I know level 3 is probably too early to get grips. Maybe not tiger paws? Please help!

Well when you really start noticing that you need them, you should get them. I honestly was better without them because the grips I had made me have to do things.. differently. And it messed me up because I was already so used to doing everything a certain way (around level 7).

But really you should just ask your instructor he/she could reccomend the best time to get them. Or you could go ahead and get them now so you learn WITH them instead of having to get used to them. Like in my situation. I think the earlier you get them the better though.

    You can get them at any level depending on how much you are working out. Some people are level 7s and don’t use grips-its personal preference. If you really have bad wrists I would get tiger paws. Talk to your coach and other gymnasts to get their opinion.

    no on the grips but the tiger paws you can get if u feel u need them. i dont have tiger paws but i do have grips and im a 6

    grips u dont need until level 6
    its too hard to do front hip circle with grips. and u dont need to shift ur wrists at all
    tigers paws level 7 maybe 6 it all depends on how bad ur wrists r. dont use them just for looks because there bad for ur wrists if u dont need them

    When i was in level 3 i got grips that didn’t have the doily part in it (the part of the grip that is by your finger tips its a bulge) you should get grip material like tiger paws :)

    You are still on the low bar. I personally dont think you should get them quite yet. Possibly in level 5.
